Summer Camp information

safety PROCEDURES

We are so excited for Hugs & Bugs Club camp! We have and will always continue to believe in the importance of nurturing children and giving them a place to feel love, connect with nature and engage in true socialization with a small group of friends. In the past year we have all experienced a profound shift in our worlds and look forward to brighter days ahead full of laughter, love, connection. We are looking forward to seeing friends reunite and new friendships occur at Hugs & Bugs Club.

Our classes will continue to embrace outdoor play and at times, find comfort in our nature-filled space for relaxation, creativity and respite from the heat.

We understand that there is no such thing as a risk-free gathering/class/camp. However, we feel confident that by following guidelines laid out, we will minimize that risk as much as possible.

Class Basics/Social Distancing:

Our classes will remain an outdoor and indoor experience. We will enjoy playing on the open fields at the park and find moments to cool down under the shade or in our studio with air conditioning.

Classes are for socializing and enjoying life. We do not enforce social distancing within the groups.

Safety & Cleanliness:

  • Kindness and friendliness upon arrival as usual.

  • No child or family member to have had exposure to person known to have COVID-19 during the previous 14 days.

  • Washing hands upon entering.

  • Designated indoor pair of shoes to remain at the space throughout the session.

  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting throughout the day.

  • Commonly touched surfaces, switches, sink knobs, tables, benches or handles etc., will be wiped down regularly.

Health Policy:

Let's do our best to help keep each other healthy. Please make sure to take a full health assessment of your entire family prior to coming to classes. If your child has any symptoms AND/OR any household family has any symptoms, please do not have your child attend class. Further, your child and all household family members must not have any symptoms and/or have taken a fever reducer within 72 hours of attending class. Our health policies are in place to protect our children, our families and our teachers and their families. If your child has a fever (99 or greater) or other symptoms, he or she will not be allowed to join. If symptoms or a fever occur while in our care, they will be kindly isolated, and you will be notified to pick up him or her up immediately. Further, your child must be tested that day for COVID and the parent must report test results back to camp. If the diagnosis is COVID, your child must remain home until medically cleared.

Welcoming Environment: The only thing we are intolerant of is intolerance. Hugs & Bugs Club has always and will continue to welcome everyone in our community. We will never discriminate against anyone regardless of age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, race, culture, who your spouse is, vaccination status, etc. Everyone is welcome in our community. We have upheld this since starting the company in 2015 and will forever uphold our values.

Registration policy

Spring break camp is nonrefundable.

Summer camp refund policy: Sawyer, our registration and payment platform, collects 3.5% of the full cost of each session of camp at the time of booking, therefore, processing fees are 3.5% of the FULL session of camp that will not be returned if you need to cancel camp.  A full refund (minus 3.5% processing fees of full camp session and the $500 non-refundable deposit per session) will be issued if notified in writing 4/1/24. A 50% refund (minus 3.5% processing fees of full camp session and the $500 non-refundable deposit per session) will be issued if notified by 5/1/24. Refunds of balance payments will not be issued after 5/1/24. No exceptions will be made for any reason. No refunds will be issued if cancellation after May 1st. Tuition payments made prior to and on or after that date are non-refundable, regardless of dropouts or reductions in weeks prior to or during the camp season. Days missed due to injury, illness, quarantine periods or any other reason may not be “made up” and will not result in a credit or refund and are non-transferrable.

We do not offer refunds, credits or makeups due to any illness, including Covid, or days cancelled or missed. We wholeheartedly value our amazing staff and understand they have their own expenses and rely on their salaries to take care of themselves and their families. We continue to pay our staff regardless if classes are cancelled due to Covid or when a child is absent. Just because we are closed, our expenses do not change. Also, in addition to the regular expenses and staff salaries, we also add the disinfecting and sanitizing that must be done if we need to cancel any days.
