Our programs provide both integration of play and purposeful teaching focused on building confidence, patience, independence and accountability. Through play, our children will foster their imaginations and sense of community. Our play-based program and learning environment is designed to establish routine and promote socialization skills, independence and creative thinking. It is here where we will deepen the exploration of ideas of the self, nature, science, math, culture, and the creative arts. Their curiosity leads the teachers to design the classes based on the child’s interest and curiosities rather than a strictly academic structure. They learn more when they are intrigued. They learn to troubleshoot and become more independent thinkers, confident in their own capabilities.
HEALTH POLICY: Prior to your arrival, please conduct your own health assessment. Let’s do our best to keep each other healthy by keeping children home when sick. Please have your child stay home and rest if your child or any member at home has had a fever and/or other symptoms or used a fever reducer within 72 hours of class. Also, please follow your doctor’s advice as to when your child should resume class after illness. Please also keep in mind that your child may not attend class if a family member is sick as we want to limit illness for our children as best we can.
GENTLE SEPARATION: We respect and honor the child first and foremost. We believe children should feel comfortable and trust in their new surroundings and with our staff. We ask that caregivers remain nearby as we navigate through your child’s drop off experience. We ask that you prepare your child by letting them know how much fun they will be having with their new friends. When at home, begin clearly saying “goodbye” and that you will be back soon. Upon returning, celebrate every time you come back home. For instance, "Mommy's going to get coffee and I’ll be back soon” and upon your return enthusiastically say, “Mommy’s home! See I told you mommy was coming back." This routine will help reassure them that you will come back. Our staff has various methods to help with the transition. We are prepared for some tears during this transition and are ready to give lots of love. If we feel that your child needs you, we will call you to return. Upon your return, you give your child the reassurance they need that you come back and love them. You will then say goodbye again and we will go through this process for no longer than one hour. Our goal is to strengthen the bond between child and parent as well as child and staff with the child feeling love and respect throughout. The separation process may take one day or one or two months. Patience is needed for our children to feel comfortable.
MAKEUPS: School programs do not have makeup options. Individual classes may have makeup options and will be listed in the registration.
MASKS & SOCIAL DISTANCING: We will not be strictly enforcing masks and social distancing.
REGISTRATION: Please understand we are a small family owned and operated company and the principal expenses of our programs do not diminish with the departure of children during the program and consequently, the obligation to pay full program fees are required. Refunds/credits will not be given and are non-transferrable.
WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT: The only thing we are intolerant of is intolerance. Hugs & Bugs Club has always and will continue to welcome everyone in our community. We will never discriminate against anyone regardless of age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, race, culture, who your spouse is, vaccination status, etc. Everyone is welcome in our community. We have upheld this since starting the company in 2015 and will forever uphold our values.

We wholeheartedly respect you and your child's privacy. We love to share what we do in class because they come with lots of smiles and inspiration! We regularly post pictures and how-to's on social media with hopes of sharing creativity. If at any time you would like to opt out of the picture taking and social media sharing, please let us know as soon as possible.
TERMS OF SERVICE
Please read the following carefully.
I certify that I am the parent/caregiver/guardian of child attending Hugs & Bugs Club class and/or drop off program and agree to the following in relationship to the services that Hugs & Bugs Club provides. I understand and agree to the terms of service.
RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY.
I recognize that there are hazards and risks connected with sensory playgroup. I further recognize that there are hazards and risks connected with various materials, objects and food used for sensory play such as an allergic reaction, choking, death. I agree to participate or designate a responsible adult to participate with my child throughout his/her Hugs & Bugs Club activities. I understand and agree that in case of an allergic reaction, I am solely responsible for attending to and treating my child. Hugs & Bugs Club does not carry Epipens and as such, I am responsible for obtaining and maintaining, carrying at all times and administering the Epipen if such an event of allergic reaction occurs. Further, I understand that if my child is attending the "Drop off" program, I am responsible for obtaining and maintaining an Epipen for my child, giving written instructions for use, and give permission for staff to treat my child with Epipen device if such an event occurs. I hereby except, release and hold harmless Hugs & Bugs Club, and its officers, agents, employees and volunteers, from any and all claims or causes of action arising out of personal injuries suffered by my child during the course of play. I further acknowledge that the I am responsible for the safety of my child I have brought to the various Hugs & Bugs Club locations/facilities (529 Willow Avenue Hoboken, NJ 07030, 537 Park Avenue Hoboken NJ 07030). I further agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Hugs & Bugs Club against any loss, damage or expense incurred by reason of any claim or liability based upon personal injury or property damage arising out of the action of parent/guardian or his/her child.
I further acknowledge that Hugs & Bugs Club Mommy & Me style classes are strictly Mommy and Me classes and NOT a “drop-off” class for open play. I acknowledge that an authorized adult over the age of 18 must be present and/or responsible for my child at all times.
Outside toys, beverages and/or food must be kept in my stroller or bag in an effort to maintain a safe environment at Hugs & Bugs Club. Caregivers must wear socks and failure to do so results in not attending the class and will not be reason for a makeup.
DROP OFF REGULATIONS AND MEDICAL RELEASE.
I understand that drop-off programs provide temporary child-care services and that as the parent of the visitor, I must be reachable at all times. I will pick up my child at the appointed time in accordance with the schedule and I understand there will be an additional fee for late pick-up. In case of emergency or serious illness, I hereby authorize Hugs & Bugs Club to obtain emergency medical care and/or provide emergency medical transportation for my child/children. I give Hugs & Bugs Club permission for my child to be given CPR and first aid treatments. Further, I understand that all medications for emergency care must be provided by the Parent and written instructions must be given prior to beginning the program. I am responsible for obtaining and maintaining an Epipen for my child, giving full written instructions for use, and give permission for staff to treat my child with Epipen device if such an event occurs. I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hugs & Bugs Club and Hugs & Bugs Club employees/agents from any and all losses, claims, injuries, damages or expenses arising from the administration of the Epipen device to child. I/we, as parent, will be responsible for payment of any medical expenses incurred. I understand that it is my responsibility as Parent/Caregiver to maintain accurate records of file and inform Hugs & Bugs Club of any changes to medical records and information.
RULES AND REGULATIONS.
I acknowledge that Hugs & Bugs Club operates under rules and regulations established for the safety and protection of its members. Pictures/videos will be taken of the children engaged in the Company’s services. Hugs & Bugs Club and its agents reserve the right to take and utilize photographs, videos, or any type of recordings of participating children and their parents, caregivers, or anyone accompanying them to Hugs & Bugs Club while engaged in our classes or associated activities. I consent to Hugs & Bugs Club use of the photographs, videos, or recordings of my child, me, or the guardian I have designated for advertising, promotional, or related purposes, and waive all rights to compensation and other rights which may arise as a result (including any rights under N.Y. Civil Rights Law 50). I understand and agree that the email address(es) I have provided herein will be added to the distribution list for Hugs & Bugs Club. I will note below if my child’s image should be excluded from use.
REFUNDS. All classes/programs are non-refundable, as the numbers affect overall planning and coordination. Hugs & Bugs Club has a similar registration process as a community program or childcare centre. Once you sign up, your spot is reserved and materials/programming are planned around these numbers. Thank you for recognizing all of the time and effort that goes into preparing for your child's time in our program!
CAMP REFUNDS: Spring break camp is nonrefundable. Sawyer, our registration and payment platform, collects 3.5% of the full cost of each session of camp at the time of booking, therefore, processing fees are 3.5% of the FULL session of camp that will not be returned if you need to cancel camp. A full refund (minus 3.5% processing fees of full camp session and the $500 non-refundable deposit per session) will be issued if notified in writing 4/1/24. A 50% refund (minus 3.5% processing fees of full camp session and the $500 non-refundable deposit per session) will be issued if notified by 5/1/24. Refunds of balance payments will not be issued after 5/1/24. No exceptions will be made for any reason.
MAKEUPS: We do not offer makeup classes at this time due to COVID-19 safety protocols.
Hugs & Bugs Club reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment.
All checks must be made payable to Hugs & Bugs Club for the full amount of the session's fee. In the event of a bounced check or insufficient funds a service fee of $25 will be incurred.
Facilities, equipment, hours, service, regulations and policies are subject to change from time to time, without prior notice, in the sole discretion of Hugs & Bugs Club with its members enjoyment in mind. I agree to accept such reasonable change(s) as a condition of membership.
As parent/guardian, I understand that I am entitled to use the Facility within the scope of the membership that I have selected.
I certify that I have read the foregoing Agreement, I acknowledge that I understand and agree to be bound by all of the terms and conditions hereof.
PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT, RELEASE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
In consideration of the services of Hugs & Bugs Club, their agents or employees, owners, officers, volunteers, participants, directors, advisers and all other persons or entities acting in any capacity by, through, under or on their behalf (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Hugs & Bugs Club”), I hereby agree to release, indemnify, and discharge Hugs & Bugs Club, on behalf of myself, my spouse, my children, my parents, my heirs, assigns, personal representative and estate and any and all other persons and entities who could in any way represent me, the Minor Child or act on our respective behalf’s. I represent that I am the parent or guardian of the Minor Child (hereinafter referred to as “my child”) and as such:
I acknowledge that my and my child’s participation in play with sensory materials, loose parts, moving/stacking/climbing on planks of wood, tires, rope and other materials encountered within the Hugs & Bugs Club site, handling of tools including but not limited to scissors, saws, hammers, pails, spades, brace bits, levels, tin snips and other carpentry tools, entails known and unanticipated risks that could result in physical or emotional injury or death or damage to myself or my child or property or to third parties. I understand that such risks simply cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the activity. The risks to myself or my child include, among other things: chocking, the hazards of slips and falls; scratches, abrasions, cuts, bruises, splinters, and pinches from other materials on site; the hazards associated with using carpentry tools, my or my child’s own physical condition, and the physical exertion associated with this activity. Furthermore, Hugs & Bugs Club employees have difficult jobs to perform. They seek safety, but they are not infallible.
I understand that Hugs & Bugs Club is not a childcare facility and licensed daycare and as such, it’s employees, owners, officers, volunteers, participants, directors advisers and all other persons acting on their behalf are not to be held responsible for my child.
I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all of the risks existing in this activity including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault. My or my child’s participation in this activity is purely voluntary, and I elect to participate or allow my child to participate in spite of the risks.
I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hugs & Bugs Club from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, suits, judgments, damages, liability, cost or expense, or causes of action, which are in any way connected with my or my child’s participation in any activity at Hugs & Bugs Club or my or my child’s use of any Hugs & Bugs Club equipment or facilities, including but not limited to those alleging negligent acts or omissions.
I certify that I have adequate insurance to cover any injury or damage I or my child may cause or suffer while participating, or else I agree to bear the costs of such injury or damage to myself or my child. I further certify that I am willing to assume the risk of any medical or physical condition I or my child may have.
Should Hugs & Bugs Club or anyone acting on their behalf, be required to incur reasonable attorney's fees and costs to enforce this agreement, I agree to indemnify and hold them harmless for all such fees and costs.
By signing this document, I acknowledge that if anyone is hurt, or property is damaged or lost during my or my child’s participation in this activity, I waive my right to maintain a lawsuit against Hugs & Bugs Club on the basis of any claim from which I have released them herein. I have had sufficient opportunity to read this entire document. I have read and understood it, and I agree to be bound by its terms. I agree that a digitally reproduced/scanned version of this waiver is fully valid and representative of the original, signed executed copy.
I, as the parent or guardian with legal responsibility for the Participant, do consent and agree to his/her release as provided above. I understand that a child may be left unaccompanied at the facility but will not be under the direct care or responsibility of the employees or volunteers of Hugs & Bugs Club. In consideration of the Participant’s being permitted by Hugs & Bugs Club to participate in its activities and to use its equipment and facilities, I release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hugs & Bugs Club, to the fullest extent permitted by law, from any and all liability, claims which are brought by, or on behalf of child, even if such liability arises from the active or passive negligence of Hugs & Bugs Club.
