Mommy and me infant and toddler early sensory learning classes in Hoboken, New Jersey and Waldwick, New Jersey. We focus on sensory play, socialization and American Sign Language. Each session is based on a book. Each class is inspired by a page within the book. Each class is a unique experience for the caregiver and child.
Please dress our little adventurers in clothes to get messy in and explore! Bring an extra set of clean clothing for little ones to change into after class. Parents and caregivers must wear socks to class.
Yay for Siblings! We offer a 10% discount for a sibling and a special twin discount of 15% off for additional twin.
We are more than happy to start a private group for you and your friends! Please contact us to schedule a class time.
Building friendships is very important at Hugs & Bugs Club. Children begin to recognize each other early on and they look forward to seeing their buddies. They try new messy activities as well as new foods when they form these lovely bonds with their friends in class. With that in mind, we only register those interested in attending for the entire semester. We only allow drop ins for our Belly Babies class (0-8mo). We welcome all to come and play with us at an Open House visit and see our space and activities we do in class. We also recommend you visit our photos page, Instagram and Facebook pages to see what we do in class and determine if this class would be a good fit for your child.
We understand life happens, days get mixed up and sniffles occur. Please contact us at least 3 hours before your class time via email to let us know you won't be able to attend class. You are welcome to makeup two classes per Fall and Winter sessions. One makeup class for the shorter Spring and Summer sessions. There is an added week at the end of the Winter and Fall sessions for the make up classes. Makeups must be attended during active enrollment and during current session.
We wholeheartedly believe quality education should be available to everyone. If you are in need of assistance, please email or call us. We are more than happy to help and make it so your little bug can join us.
Currently, all Hugs & Bugs Club classes will be held in Hoboken at the 529 Willow Avenue in Hoboken, NJ.
Other Common Questions:
Why do you focus on one book per session?
Why not?! We're all a bunch of book worms over here! Books open the door for so much creativity and inspiration. Reading the same book over and over again makes you see so much more each time you read it. Plus, it becomes soothing to know what's going to happen next and it's always fun anticipating a great moment. Each session we encourage parents to incorporate the book into your child's bedtime routine and discuss all the fun activities, sign language and vocabulary they learned that week as well as all the laughs and silly moments. So many wonderful things can happen in these kinds of conversations regardless of whether your child is verbal yet. It's just the beginning to a beautiful lifetime of getting to know your little bug and letting them know how cool it is talking with them about their day.
Why do you change the class activities each week?
Surprise!!! Surprises are so much fun! Each week at Hugs & Bugs Club is inspired by a page within the book making it feel like your child's birthday to them! They get to feel excited to see all the new activities they get to jump into with their friends. Plus, we all learn through experience, so why not make new experiences for our children as much as possible?!
Why are your class sizes small?
Class sizes are kept small so children can make true connections and begin to learn from each other. It's amazing what children will do when they feel comfortable and safe around their peers. Some children will try things they normally wouldn't because they see their friends having fun.
Is class for a specific kind of child?
Yes! Yours! This class is for all children. It helps to expose all children to messy play, new textures and greater imaginative play thus creating a perfect platform to learn new vocabulary and grow socially with their peers.
What if my child doesn't like to touch certain textures?
No problem! We have fun techniques that help slowly ease reluctant children into the various sensory bins. Each child participates at various degrees.
Is this class appropriate for children with sensory processing issues?
Each child is different and mom knows best. We are more than happy to accommodate you by coming up with fun ways to ease your child into the activities, create a smaller class size or even set up private sessions. You are also always welcome to bring an occupational therapist with your child.
